Members of Handbell Musicians of America – we regret to inform you that our festival/conferences scheduled for 2021 have been cancelled or postponed.
The Area 5 board feels that the health and safety of our membership should be our first priority in times of COVID-19. With this in mind, we tried to postpone both the Ft. Wayne and Mackinac events. We were successful in working with the Grand Hotel in Mackinac Island, MI to postpone our event to 2022. The new dates for our ring at the Grand Hotel are: April 28-30th, 2022.
We were unable to come to a mutually satisfying agreement with the hotels in Ft. Wayne, allowing us to postpone our event to 2022. This resulted in the cancellation of our agreements with both the hotels and the convention center. The Area 5 RiverRing scheduled for March 12-13, 2021 has been cancelled.
At this time, our state Chairs will be working to provide ways to connect, share ideas, and learn from one another during these challenging and unique times. Please be sure to follow your state’s (or all of the states in Area 5) HMA Facebook page for more information and keep up to date on future happenings within Area 5. We are looking forward to the day when we can ring together in person!
